Zak Burkons is a highly experienced real estate professional with over 20 years of expertise in the Cleveland market. Throughout his career, he has established several businesses designed to support and enhance the local real estate community.  Zak earned his MBA in Real Estate from the University of Illinois in 2004.

Rent Due LLC, founded in 2007, has successfully managed thousands of rental units across Ohio on behalf of landlords. In 2008, Rent Due expanded into receivership services, where it serves as a court-appointed neutral party during litigation, taking over all aspects of property management. This includes developing turnaround strategies, leasing, repairs, litigation, and eventual property disposition. Notably, Rent Due has handled numerous apartment complexes throughout Ohio and has been involved in judgment enforcement and collections for various cases.

PbFree Ohio LLC, founded in 2021, was one of the pioneering companies in Cleveland’s lead inspection industry. Today, it is the largest provider of lead inspection services in the area, with over 9,000 units certified. PbFree Ohio serves a diverse range of clients, from Cleveland’s largest landlords to smaller portfolios with fewer than 10 units. The company offers services across all Cleveland neighborhoods and conducts both the 2-year and 20-year lead examinations mandated by the City of Cleveland.

Zak’s experience spans managing rental properties ranging in size from 20 to 100 units. Some of his largest jobs included a portfolio of more than 3000 units.  He works closely with the City of Cleveland’s Building and Housing Department, Law Department, and municipal courts. His expertise includes resolving Local Agent in Charge (LAIC) matters, Assisting with Rental Registration and Lead Certificate issues, ensuring that landlords’ properties are compliant with local regulations and standards.
